Nettleton, Conway, Wynne gain top awards
in ASU's 64th Journalism, Broadcasting Day

Nettleton High School won the sweepstakes award March 2 at the 64th annual Journalism and Broadcasting Day at Arkansas State University.

Conway captured second, Wynne finished third and Jonesboro and West Helena Central were fourth.

Students competed in 13 contests for individuals as well as newspaper and video competitions.

In newspaper competition the Wynne YellowJacket was named the top paper in Division I, and the Nettleton Chieftain took top honors in Division II.

West Helena Central won first place in news video, and Nettleton was first in sports video.

Awards were presented live on ASU-TV Channel 63 by Communications students Shannon Knebel of Cabot, Shay Nanke of Paragould, Hannah Dolle of Little Rock, Gary Elsken of Fort Smith, Allison Orlansky of Holly Grove and Heather Bristow of Brookland.
