The Herald Celebrates
Black History Month
In honor of Black History Month the
Herald will profile black organizations and members of Arkansas
State University. They will appear in print, on the Web site
and also in this speical section.

| Students march in the Black History Month
Marade and Unity Rally Saturday morning. The marade began at
Simmons First Bank on Caraway and ended at the Dean B. Ellis
Library. Several organizations took part in the marade, as well
as Rep. Marion Berry, who followed the crowd in a car. |

The cake was free to students in celebration of Carter G. Woodson
Day, the founder of Black History Month. Woodson dedicated his
life to researching and preserving the saga of the African-American
experience, and is known as the "father of black history." |

theft of several hundred dollars from Arkansas State University
students purchasing books.

United Voices choir travels, ministers,
unites students and faculty

The United Voices Gospel Choir of Arkansas State University,
committed to serving God and sharing their love of God with the
world, has toured many northern and delta cities and have given
many unforgettable performances throughout the ASU and Jonesboro
community through tremendous dedication and a powerful belief
